Chalkwork Labs

Four things a Chalkwork Labs course does that a video can't.

For you and for your learners. Try the example lessons.

01The course

Interactive lessons. A chart to drag, a case to decide, a check to answer.

Figures. A chart with a slider for each input, such as yield, maturity or discount rate. Drag one and the curve, the marker and the readouts update as it moves.

Cases. A scenario and three choices. Pick one and the case branches, with a reason for the choice made and for the two not made.

Quick checks. One question, three answers, a reason under each. A wrong answer explains the mistake, not just the right answer.

"I'm lost here." One button on every section. Press it and the section is explained again, a different way. Every press is counted on your dashboard.

02The AI tutor

Answers from your pages. Nowhere else.

Knows where they are. The learner asks from a sentence or a figure. The question carries their slider values.

Your pages only. Every answer names the lesson and figure it came from. If your pages don't cover it, it's built to say so.

Your tone, your dashboard. You set its tone in a style note. You see every exchange, and learners can flag any answer.

You, in the same thread. A learner can pass any AI answer to you with one press. You reply on the days you set.

Yours to switch off. A course works without the tutor. One setting, per course.

Bundled, and improving. 3% of each sale pays for a learner's questions: about 240 on an £80 course. It runs on Anthropic's Claude models. Questions do not train them.

Lesson 4 · figure 1The dashed line is what duration predicts. Notice it sits below the curve on both sides.

Why on both sides, not just one?

Because the curve bends upward. A straight tangent cannot follow a bend, so it undershoots whether yields rise or fall. Try maturity 30 years and the gap grows.

03Built with you

We draft. You correct. It stays current.

From your material. Slides, notes, worked examples, a dataset, a notebook. We turn them into lessons, figure by figure.

Reviewed like a document. Comment, change, approve. Nothing publishes until you have.

Edits reach everyone. Change a number or a figure and every learner sees it, with a note.

Lesson 7 · draft 2 · for your review2 changes
The weighted average cost of capital falls as debt risesfalls at first, because debt is cheaper than equity and interest is tax-deductible, then rises once shareholders and lenders start pricing in the risk. On the traditional view, that turning point is the optimal gearing the exam asks you to discuss.
You: Say "lenders price in the risk" rather than "default risk". That is how I teach it.
Change note to learners: "Lesson 7, WACC: clearer wording on the turning point."Approve
04Learn from your learners

Where they get stuck, and what to do about it.

By lesson. Completion, quick-check scores, and where "I'm lost here" was pressed.

Blind spots. AI tutor questions grouped into themes, each with a suggested edit.

Approve once. The edit goes to every learner, with a change note.
